Growing up, both me and my wife had the misconception that we should follow the traditional career path of working 40-hour weeks to receive a stable paycheck. Bottom line: arrive at the office early, stay late, and sometimes work on weekends, then hopefully one day, we’d save enough to retire at 65.
We were okay, we got by. From the Philippines, we migrated to Canada to search for greener pastures. We were blessed with a daughter and started living our family life…worked on weekdays and looked forward to the weekends. After more than 12 years of being employed in 9-5 jobs, we realized one day that if continue to trade our hours for a paycheck, we would keep working till 65 and not have enough time to enjoy what we’ve worked for. We decided then to simplify our life and stop working harder.
How?
- By doing something different.
- By ending the cycle of stressing about bills and worrying about making ends meet
- By building something that would allow us more flexibility to live life on our own terms.
- To go from OK to Extraordinary!
