How To Choose The Right Franchisee

1. Having regular franchisee leads coming in from online marketing. Most franchisors do not use the right medium to get franchisees.          They  rely mostly on referrals (which is good) but that won’t bring you regular leads to your sales pipeline. Most rely on social media            marketing (Facebook posting ) to get potential leads.

It’s a numbers game so the more potential leads you have, the more chances of getting a quality and passionate franchisee.

Most franchisors fall to the trip of getting a franchisee just for the sake of getting one or increasing the number of franchisees because      of the fear of losing a potential franchisee.

Tip: Google Ads Search and email marketing are the best combination medium to get more franchisees. Google Ads search because of        the intent to search for something and email helps warm up your leads from Google Ads.

2. The relationship between a franchisor and a franchisee is not the same as an employer/employee relationship however, we can use the same principles when hiring an employee.
Make them go under an Interview process - make the potential franchisee go through a series of interviews.
3. Character references - Past behavior most likely will dictate how they will behave as a franchisee.
4. Use psychological tests like DISC Test and Strengths finder. Most likely if they have a renegade personality that can’t follow the rules, then they can’t be a good franchisee because they have to follow your systems.
5. Use the ancient metaphysics called Bazi (Four Pillars of Destiny) . Bazi can help you see if a franchisee will be a fit with your franchise by using their birth date. It has a high accuracy and can be more advantageous to use compared to a personality test where a person can choose to answer the questions based on what they think is right.
Tip. It’s hard to look for a real master that can interpret a Bazi chart. Let us know if you want recommendations.
6. Ask them why they want to be part of your franchise. Simon Sinek has a good video that will tell us to start first with the WHY.
7. Make sure that they have the right background, skills, abilities and attitudes for your system. Remember that skills can be taught but attitude is hard to change.
Pro-tip: Are they open to feedback?
“I think it's very important to have a feedback loop, where you're constantly thinking about what you've done and how you could be doing it better. I think that's the single best piece of advice: constantly think about how you could be doing things better and questioning yourself.” --Elon Musk
8. As a practical assessment exercise for your franchisee applicants, you may want to bring them on for on-site training at your existing locations. This will allow you to evaluate their operational skills and their ability to learn and direct activities related to the business.
In short, you should use all these possible techniques so you can select the right franchisee.
